Low Costing Webhost

Does anyone know a good web hosting company that is reliable and cheap? I am a student with no income. I could host it with an old computer that i have but the problem is that I my Internet connection is not static. Any help in pointing me out to a good service would be great, thanks -46th

There are a few web hosting portal sites that list the top ranked sites. My advice on hosting though, is that don't base your host solely on price - I have done that in the past and lost everything. Better to do a little research and find a host that has favorable customer reviews. Knowing what you want your site to do (PHP, ASP, SQL etc) will also make your search a lot easier.

Recently a friend of mine started hosting with godaddy.com and they seem decent.

There's also a number of free hosting services out there that you could look it.

http://www.swirldot.com/ - A friends hosting, been around for a while and pretty cheap.
http://www.mjzhosting.net/ - Haven't had experince with them but my friend uses them and says their good.

Oh and hosting on your own computer is not a good idea unless you have something above a Cable connection. A Cable connection is fine if you have 1 or 2 people visiting your site at once, but anything above that can get really bandwidth intensive. It works fine for testing sites, with PHP and various other server side technology, but other wise its generally not a good idea.
