Creature Concept -- Dragon Mage

While playing through Jade Empire I was scanning old sketches and ran across one (just the dragon-like character) that cried out for a more polished treatment.

There's lots I don't like about the painting, but I think it has some good points as well, and does nail the main character, who's a magician/warrior/teacher transformed into dragonlike form by a longevity spell. Maybe someday I'll model him as well.

I was trying for more of a slightly metallic leather (best I can describe it) than scaliness. Unfortunately between resizimg & JPEGging for the web, some of the more subtle highlights in the dragonskin got smeared out.
