Why can't I download?!

I'm trying to download the Trainergirl model but I get a page that says I must have a GameSpy ID. OK I registered. I tried the download again and got the same page telling me I need a GameSpy ID. From that page I can login to GameSpy. I've registered on Polycount. No matter what I do I still get denied when I try to download the TrainerGirl model. What am I doing wrong?

You need to register at Gamespy, I think the GSID page should have a button for that. These forums aren't even hosted by Gamespy, AFAIK, of course they use a different set of accounts.

Invalid cookie settings or something? Which browser are you using?

yeah it has something to do with your cookies, plus the download pages and login on gamespy sucks... I have to go through the same bs when I wanna d/l stuff from that site. If you're using firefox, just allow gamespy to set cookies and then spend approximately 5 hours trying to d/l the thing you want.... near breaking point (when you feel like destroying something) it should finally work for you..... maybe.

Thx. Still struggling w/FF and the GameSpy site but it may not be worth the trouble. I already have all of the files. I've installed the model and she's working. The reason I was looking for anther download is that I was hoping to find one with an automagic install. Why? Because even though the model is working I never seem to run into her in any of the single-player instant action games that I play. I was wondering if there was another file that needed to be modified to throw TG into the mix or at least bump her selection priority.

you need to make sure she's selected in the bot roster and that you're using the bot roster and not 'map defaults'

The random selector will sometimes choose the added models but because that's rather uncommon considering the sheer number of shipped models you might get the impression that that doesn't happen. When I turn on random roughly half the bots are custom models (well, I've got roughly fifty addon models...). Yes, if you want a specific model your best bet is the bot roster.
