ok first thing, ideas and then 2 cleaned versions :





not sure which design to use yet, cant even decide on a colour so im just gonna do the staight version then bend it if i dont like it

i like the transparent side so we can see the beam being generated, i've not seen that before. but please refrain from curving the hilt if you show the beam, that's just a bit too silly even for a lightsaber

after looking at the model with the curve i think gauss may have a point, not sure yet though see how it looks after food!




*edit* too many curves!

I believe its Count Dooku (sp?) from the new movies who actually prefers a curved hilt but with a more detailed design. Considering the blade of a lightsaber has no weight, holding it at the top would not cause any less difficulty with techniques. Looks pretty cool, google it for inspiration if you need to.
