Fraps / alternatives?

i used it once before (demo) to record hl2 footage.. considering buying it.. input?

I have it, and it's perfect for me. What do you want to do with it? I don't really know it as a benchmarking tool, but I use it purely for capturing in-game footage and screenshots for video samplers. Coupled with VirtualDub - for compressing video/audio - it's teh business.

I use camtasia for my video tutorials. I highly recomend it as well.

my uses would lean more towards frap's capabilities as an in-game video capture tool. However, desktop recording could prove just as useful.
poop, any idea if camtasia is capable of doing in-game as well as regular desktop recording.. and what resolution can camtasia go up to? i noticed fraps only goes up to 1152x684...

I use Camtasia as well. Its like $300 tho...
