I think I might have posted an earlier version of this in my thread about lecturing at the AI, but now I'm finished with it. I modeled and textured this over two sessions at the AI of DC in front of about 30 or 40 students. It was a lot of fun, and most of the students seemed to enjoy it. The first class I modeled and UVed, and second I textured. I tried to fill as much of the time with verbal instruction to go with the onscreen demonstration.
And, as I promised the students, I'm posting the psd and the max file (max 7) for anyone to look at how I break stuff down

I'm posting in the hopes this might help someone by seeing the way I break down my layers, how I use masks, and overlays in conjunction with hand painted detail. And if anyone wants to do a new texture for it, that'd be cool to see too.
