Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to make an alpha channel work!?!?!? I cant find out how to do it myself, nor anything on the internet. I aready have the alpha channel in the texture as a .TGA file, but i cant get it to work in max
After studying the design of Spawn.com's scar predator, i realized the armor is very...whats the word...gah, i knew it earlier but i cant remember...anyway i realized it wasn't as smooth. So i got another texture Colo burn on it, and it enhanced it greatly, let me know what you guys think.
looking sweet slaught . I think your definition of details in the face are too strong. It's amazing that you almost lined up the wiremesh perfectly o_O haha. But yea its looking good except for the extreme definition in the face. Now start with the "rough/dark" areas and it will REALLY bring your skin together. I also think your armor tone and skin flesh color are starting to not contrast very well. It's almost blending together and looking kinda wierd. Maybe if you take out some of the color (i know, im a hypocrite, im sorry ) or do something else to the skin or armor...looking great though
Slight update on my model. Redid the body skin as i said and added a bit to the Armor. Found that the bluetone to the armor really worked well, so i bought that back. Also recently found a site Here that really helped me with the body skin. Stupid me, dont really know why i thought the pred's muscles were as outlined as i had them, haha. Anyway take a look. I used the same setting that i used on my posed render, and it looks sooo badass
Decided to add the Plasma Caster to the model...it wasnt the same without it. Along with this and other fixes, new SDK soon (same layout but **SOME** pieces moved to use space and to add plasma caster)
I really want to do a texture for this fella but I got too many things on the go at the moment most probably download anyways and see what I can do in my spare time
Darth: Cool work on the texture you might want to add some more macro shading to the whole character, just to help out the vert lighting, and also picking out more highlights on the edges- once you get that sorted, it should look as polished as a freshly polished, um, *tries to think of really shiny things* :P
As for alpha channels, if you mean to get them working in max, it can be a bit funny with tga alphas- I found that going to the root of the material where you have your diffuse, spec, bump, etc maps and clicking on the blue and white box icon usually gets it working for me, though it can be hit and miss- I usually just grab the alpha map and save it out as a seperate image and apply it as an opacity map

Well, i got an incredible urge to model the Celtic Predator's Helmet, and although i think the model is fairly well done, i think the skin needs work, but check it out!
3'rd Predator is coming soon, however, the only difference i noticed with him, is the "gills" on his mask. I dont know, im thinking about changing the tones on the body skin, as well as the armor color from each, because it almost seemed as if the "gill predator"'s armor was brown. Anyone agree?
Rooster: HELL YES i would want to. I just dont have the capability myself . I'm talking to one of my friends ive recently met about it, but im just not sure if its going to work out with him. Porting it to UT2k4, or hell almost any game would be nice. FOX wouldn't have a problem with just a player model port right?
Hey man, sorry about stopping work on the pred. I've been really busy with my spare time working on forsaken. The team is making tons of progress and i'd feel guilty if i wasn't helping. When things slow down a bit i'll get back to working on him!

yea bro i would LOVE for it to be un UT2k4. Me and a couple of my friends are going to work on getting custom animations for him in HL2 DM, with working plasma caster and wrist blades. Hopefully that wont be too much for FOX . Got a final skin, and here it is

The model looks really good DarthRevanII. Work a little more on the texture (highlight and dirty on the armour) and you'll have a great model.Looking forward to this.

get these into ut2k4!!! with proper metal shaders and what not of course! and why dont you make a proper bump and spec map? I think these models would really benefit from it.

1)-Can anyone help me out by showing me how to get my alpha layer working?
2)-Should i make the plasma caster its own UVWmap on like a 256x256 or lower skin file? or just add it to the armor skin file?

Based on the fact that the celtic predator was considered the "main" predator (even though he wasnt, it was my opinion he WAS to be the "best" of the three. With that said, i felt he was taller and thicker, so therefore, hes taller
