Shopping is fun. We like to go out for a walk (the parks around Edinburgh are great. Holyrood leads onto the volcanic mountains and prehistoric forts), have a pint or two and a spot of lunch, then go shopping. Another few pints afterwards can't be sniffed at either.
The best CD and DVD shopping is when you go in and just pick up everything you want. We got a dozen DVDS and 1/2 dozen CDs today. And a dozen or so books.
Anyway, while I was paying, we were talking about the great music playing in the shop, so we asked, the CD was brought forth and purchased.
Joanna Newsom, the album "The Milk-Eyed Wonder" Is a fucking masterpiece. It's blues and country tinged folk, really stripped back and stunning. Those of you who are into Cash/Cave/Harper/Waits will not be

Sample some Mary Gauthier if you haven't before, especially the "Filth and Fire" album. "Sugarcane" and "After You're Gone" are permanently etched into my brain
