It's Pauls last day with us on the Bond team at EA Redwood shores today!
Congrats to Paul on his awesome new gig. ( I wont say what that is since that's his business )
Many thanks for all your amazing hard work over the last couple of years. You will be very sorely missed ( but not like that! ) :-)
cheers dude!

Everyone knows that none of these opportunities would have opened themselves up to me if I hadn't learned so much from Darren. I learned a lot during my 2 years at EA. And everyone knows that all of it came from Darren. So, many thanks to you, kind sir. You're an exceptionally talented artist and I've been very fortunate to have learned from you. I have no doubt in my mind that I will never find anyone in the industry who will have so much to offer.
I've made a lot of friends and met some genuinely good people at EA. Making the final decision to leave wasn't easy. The fact that I'd be leaving these people loomed over me while I thought things through. But at the end of it all... I just got pushed too far in the wrong direction by the people who I despise the most at work. I made a choice to take myself out of my current situation to better myself.
My new gig offered me the chance to work on a game that I am very interested in. The subject matter of my new project, against the one at EA... heavily favors towards what I naturally enjoy doing in my spare time. I saw it as one of those rare opportunities in life that one simply has to grab.
I'll still hang out with my friends at EA. I won't be working too far away from them. They're a good bunch of guys. And I will defenitely miss our lunch time banter and ranting. Good times, those lunches.

Not to derail the thread (congrats again soul!), but it was Soul's portfolio that got him both jobs, and it's his portfolio, that already ensures he can write his own ticket for life. I think you and others on this board, are just too caught up with big named studios as if their endorsement somehow meant more than the work a person can produce. That's the mistake that producers and marketing people are supposed to make, not us.
if you happen to run into a Matt Milizia, or end up working with him, tell him i say whats up. He's a great guy, and an old friend of mine
Who the hell is gonna keep papa Daz sane now?...be there when the chips are down, play with him and his box of toys under the desk and of course make great looking weapons in 20minutes for magazine covers,ey? :P....*holds head in hands*

Poop that's not the reality of the industry. You should know that . It is a fact that without a doubt having those big names studios in his resume will help push him to the front of the line if he ever wants to go for a position like Art Director at another AAA studio. Game companies want Art Directors and Senior artists who have worked for big name studios.
