Hi guys I've been trying to expand my library of books, pappers, journals you name it,,,

I'm really into finding new ways to do things!

At the moment I'm interested in how people paint / go about planning texturing. Especially on character and low polygon evnironment models.

So far I've only aquired books by Dave Franson, Don Seegmiller and Matt Omerick (lucas arts guy).

I've been downloading tutorials like crazy form PC and its sister sites. I've pretty much stalked everyone from PC tbh.

Any other artists / publishers I should check out?

Regards

Sounds to me like you just need to buckle down and do some. If you've been checking out all the talent and tutorials around here, I think that should be enough to get you going.

In my experience, a lot of the workflow is personal, I find out what works best for me by just plain doing it. Like they say, there's a world of difference between reading about it and actually doing it.

There isnt any I would reccomend. This is a subject that a LOOOOT of crap has been written about. You can learn a massive amount from popping open quake III's textures (use winzip on the pack file) and just staring at them all for hours. Worked for me. wink.gif
