His arm are not yet definied and finshed i assume, so i dont want to crit that really. I would maybe scale his shoulderpads up abit and would give the legs / feets a bit more polylove.
The helmet and the head looks awesome. Im very exited about the texture. I guess you will be the next one i want to give a paintover advice after blankslatejoe and ghost_rider .
Jody, you models have improved a ton! The devils in the textures though! haha. But even those have improved dramatically. Is this for a comp? what comp if you dont mind me asking?
Your models always have a great natural proportion to them. Good concept, and I dig the helmet as well. Can't wait to see the texture. I do think the arms could use a bit more definition though.
....damn thier is no scratch head symbol.. wow thanks chaps just made my day! i would love a paintover shimmer and my biggest downfall at the moment is texturing so well see ill work more on the proportions and try to up the tris a bit but im close to my limit... about 400 or so left...

i've been watching this over at cgchat... love how its turned out. one thing i'd like to see, if you've got the polys to spare, is some thickness to his helmet/face armor. nobody wants paper-thin armor!
wow iv never had an sdk request before! shure ill get one up once iv done mine nd adam ill look into the wideness thing but i quite like the chunky look!
the mesh flow is very well done, and it seems pretty low on polies compared to its detail. The character is very original and creative, and just really well done

He may be a little narrow in the torso, considering all that armor he's wearing it looks pretty *tight in there.
I'm also not too keen about the helmet. It adds a cool shape, overall, but does the horns really work? They seem unbalanced with his very solid structure. Perhaps consider revising the shape so it doesnt' pull so far away from his body.

Hard to tell, but are you giving more texture space to the back of the shield than to the front?!? Also, the pauldron looks to have way more space than the skirt thing and boots. Infact, it seems the further down your model you go, the smaller the UV space gets. :P
yehh id like the link too might be a good idea! here is an update iv played round with the map and its *tight* i mean it may be a prooblem... less than 2 pixels betwee some things.. ? anyway heres the pic
It looks like you have a seam there on the sides of the paldron and that gives you no stretching but its a bitch to work around sometimes. The fewer seams the better usualy. Even if you have a little stretching its not a big deal on some rounded objects. As long as you dont put a texture there that really shows off all the stretching you'll be fine. In the end it dosn't really matter, its what you come up with. If thats the way you like to do it then go for it. In my experiance though selecting all of the faces of a hemispherical surface and planar map based on the averaged normals then tweeking it works best and goes really fast.

hmm it does look good overall, though i think its face is kinda "dead" without any life. It looks like a painitng from a photo or something. Since you have the chance to stylize i would do so. Also the expression is a bit buff. Maybe add some wrinkles to make him look older, same for the saturation, desaturate a bit to give him more gritty feeling.
Looking good, I really like him. You should try to give his face a bit of a snarl though.
It's kinda a tiger trademark. You should try to match his colours with actual tiger markings, he looks like he's suppost to be a tiger warrior, and not actual look like a tiger warrior.

Look up Chaos UT in google, and there is a mod that adds weird weapons both as a mutator, and a game type. One of Chaos UT's game types is "Duel" where two characters go at it with melee weapons in a single room, with soem fairly reasonable melee controls. Left Mose is attack, right mouse is block and you can toggle how "strong" the move is, as well as maneuver for advantage. if I can get the list of animations from the Chaos UT folks, I am going to add it to the Lupine Catelogue.
Cheers scot found it... not sure if im gonna go to the bother of puting this in a game, once iv finnished skinning i might see if someone could animate it and stick it in an engine for me.. will give the sdk more use

If his pproportions are not far off the Gorge, or UT_Male skeletons, I could probably port him into the game. I've done it for other models, Can do it for yours as well.

Beeeeeaautiful! I've been following this here but mostly when it started over at CGchat. I thought it was a great concept then too. I wish I wouldve had time to join the challenge, but oh well. I am digging the textures on this beast. It really really brought it to life. Cant wait for the SDK. Keep up the incredible work!

the texture definately needs some 'WHWHAHAAAAAAA' colors to it, some loud accents or something (in moderation of course).
