dump of renders from a university project. the brief was to model (very basically) the area around the student bar. dont think its too bad but would have like dot spent the time hand painitng textures really.
heya dude, photo manips are looking good for a first proper stab at it- the main thing that needs to be looked at is the perspective- the rear wheels look flat, because you are still seeing the left side of the inner rim, which would be partially obscured- the only way you'd get around this is if you modelled them in max and then used the photo as the background, render the wheels out on their own and paste them into the photo.....
as for the renders, the final peice is looking alright- as I said to you on msn, the texture usage is a bit poo (could use a cropped brick texture instead of massive ones with lots of bricks), but the actual scene looks ok
cheers fella's
aye the smoothing groups seem to have nagged ALOT of people
maybe have a stab at re-doing this project or a similar one of the summer hols, modelling my house for example might be a bit easier.
i see your point on that chunk, it didnt help that the wheel images i was using were slightly upper left pespective and not flat on. but i think with a bit of patience i could smooth out those problems photo editing and modelling alike.
never really sure what people mean when they say fix up the smoothing groups though, im assuming selecting groups of faces as diferent groups to help add more detail to the model its-self?
