Zelda part was soopa doopa! They need to polish the act a bit more overall. I really hoped they were gona add some acapella sound effects like mario jumping.. or getting a 1up. Piano man did it
It makes me wonder; twenty years from now, will any of today's games be worthy of such nostalgia, or be anywhere near as memorable? When I'm 80 years old (if I live that long and am still of sound mind), I'll will still be able to instantly recognize the original Super Mario Bros. theme; I'm not sure if I can say the same about any of today's games.
The last catchy tune I heard from a game was the battlefield 1942 intro song. When i heard a remixed version in a Bf2 video.. it sent a nice vibe So a slight nostalgia is there for me.
I think kids who are just getting into video games are going to remember their first loves fondly. It's our nature to think everything was better when we were young, but it's not necessarily true ... we just love the stuff from when we were young, because it was among our first.
Swampbug: Yeah ... I also found the Deus Ex theme pretty catchy, and Unreal Tournament had some tracks I found myself humming along to from time to time...
Malekyth: Or it might be that back then it was basically orchestra music (especially Total Annihilation, I loved that music) while these days it's mostly licensed stuff?

hehe, me too man. It's amazing how sentimental those old sounds can be.
