I thought that in order to advance myself it might be beneficial to create a character I don't choose myself. So, well, I'm looking for suggestions.
What I won't take are existing characters I'm not familiar with (existing concept art is okay) and tasteless stuff.

Or maybe the you could ask premission to use one of Marko Djurdjevic concept:

j/k LOL i'm already doing that heh.
But on a more serious note, you could try modeling gargoyles, or whatever that looks like a nude guy and flies (It'll help human modleing and monster modeling altogehter, especially with defining facial features)
There's loads of unused concept here for a dead mod but I don't care about those monotonous works anymore
or do crazy frog, yeah
From there i'll put him in cs:s as terrorist
A drawing of mine from a while back. Well, it's pretty different to anything you've done before, I think...
Oh yeah, just do whatever the hell you want on the legs. I gave up before I finished them.
And the thing on his mechanical arm is some kind of neural probe or something, I guess. You might wanna change it though, it's a bit weird. Or you could go crazy and use lots of 1-bit alpha maps and animate it retracting into the pod on his arm :P
