I'm getting a lot of slow down in Maya, ever since I upgraded to 6.5. There seems to be a memory leak or some such somewhere along the line so that the longer I work, the slower the thing goes. If I apply a texture it really starts to grind.
I'm running windows XP, Pentium 4 2.6 GHz with a Gigabyte of RAM and Geforce FX graphics card. I'm working on less than 2000 polygons, with texture sizes of 256*256 and less for fuq sake. There shouldn't be memory issues... right?

My history lest was about 10 pages long.
anyway, turning history off is something i'd love to do for modelling since it's a joke to have to do stuff like that manually - weren't computers and software originally intended to automate tasks?
unfortunately there are strange side-effects occuring, like the extrude-gizmo which then dissappears and possibly other stuff that's not as obvious.
or did they fix that in newer versions?
