My tablet on speed?

With no apparent reason my Intuous (old one) pen is going crazy. the further I move it from the tablet - while still in reading range of course - the nuttier it gets. The cursor goes amok and shakes all over the place. I tried messing with settings, changing modes, calling the fire department.. nothing.

Unless someone has injected some new form of electric mdma through the data plug, I dont see the reason. Has anyone ever had this?

ive had that happen, moreso with my old wacom. guess the sensors were super sensitive and didnt have any balancing - and the shaking is a product of your hand slightly wobbling.

either that, or its just old

It could be a problem with your USB port. I used to get similar problems on my old motherboard, and would also occasionally get the mouse drifting randomly around the screen. If you've got another port avilable, try plugging into that.

I find that if I hold my wacom too close to the large CRT I get the wobblies, and yeah...as I get near the tablet sensor threshold it shakes as well.

yeah the first thing to try is moving it further from your monitor
