I don't know if it was your intention, but that line around the fronds at the top kinda of throw it off. If it was a cartoony look you were going for though, then this is right on.
hmm cartoony was definitely not the look I was going for so I did some minor changes and replaced the "fronds". Sorry my english isn't that sharp. Is fronds the same as stamen?
also I've distributed the pixels a little better in the new texture.
Definitly well executed. When practicing your skills you should do things that are challenging. Try painting the pedals and leaves yourself rather than photosourcing.
I see your quite the environmentalist yourself. I think I'll take you up on that advice. I'll give those leaves half an hour more work and give them more of a handcrafted look.
Most of the work is photosourced which is kind of a switch I made lately. I actually think is easy to get some okay results like for example the petals on this one.

There's a slight problem with the first capture. Milkshape has problems with depth sorting on transparent textures.
