actually even though the images wont load for me, i can guess that its gonna be based on the work from www.nuklearpower.com in the 8-bit theater selection, black mage being my favorite character also >;]
Personally I think the whole "Insect Battle" thing is tiresome, old and has been taken way too far and back again, as ghost_rider says, it detracts from the overall quality of CA.org.
Initially it was pretty funny, and a couple of the fanart images are good, but it's just been done to death and is just getting on my nerves now.
People should know when enough is enough.
Oh, and I can't see any images in this thread. Any reason for this? Bandwidth gone overboard or something? Try an image host like Photobucket, I don't think they have a bandwidth limit. And from the sounds of things, you'll want to crop and resize your images anyway.
joke? what do you mean? and yes, it is based of the nuklear power black mage, and yes, my bandwith has been exceded....also, this isn't fullbright, so thats why you can see it well.....errr...crits welcome...
oh, and i said WARNING LARGE IMAGES it's not like i didn't fucking know, and i would have cropped them, if i didn't have to go to school in like, ten minutes.
Maybe next time, consider waiting until after school when you have more free time to crop the images and present them in a user-friendly fashion. That way you won't get so many useless replies.
Even a good model, when presented in a bad manner, will get far less recognition than a not-so-good model presented superbly. Something to ponder, maybe!
Oh, and like I say, Photobucket is your friend. Go make an account, it's free, and you can stick all the images you want up there (within a size limit) and it shouldn't ever exceed bandwidth allowance.
god, i FRICKING HATE 1asphost...i'll crop, and repost them, soo...i was considering cutting down on polies in the eyes, and the head, because they don't need that much detail...the only reason it has that high of a polycount is because of the outlines, which doubles the count.
Hey, CheapAlert, everyone's gotta start somewhere you know.
It looks like a character, that's good enough for me!
Good start here, try using more complex meshes next time, do some polygonal modelling for organic structures, it's fun and you can do some cool stuff... keep it up!
Well, his earlier small furry thing with giant thick cel shading was a better effort imo (i forgot where he posted that though)
Try modeling vertex-by-vertex, face-by-face in a different modeling utility such as Blender! Here's an example, being the silly gargoyle jerk I am, had to model a black mage real quick, in only 418 triangles! !!1
Lol, threw a skin on him too
While we're at it, let's throw a celshader on him doubling his polycount to 836 triangles
the small dude DID take me longer...only because at that time i was still learning to skin, and animate. So.....more effort into that one. I'll get started on lowering the polygons...maybe. i like him the way he is...so i'll try to keep him mostly the same. oh, i forgot to mention, i was going to texture it, so i forgot to say the skin was a Wip. i'll probably texture on the eyes, and make his robe kind different, maybe a strap on him, that could be used for holding a staff....or one at his waist for daggers like he uses in nuklear power.
your obviously not a big enough fan of 8-bit theater then (nuklear power isnt the name of the strip >_>), as you would know black mage would never use anything to carry something, as almost everything he needs, he keeps within the confines of his robes...
oh, and the hat stays on babeh
heres some sigs me and my friends have from the 8-bit scene (i mae mine and emhilradims, and my friend Magus made his "thief" sig)
hey, give cheapy some credit, he want's his gargoyles realistic, right? oh, and bye the way, almighty, yesterday i read EVERY comic the third time through. anyway, the only reason that i suggested that is because of almost everybody here is against just plain textures....

atm, it's right above this one. No reason for large images showing such a small and simple character.

personaly , it dosnt bother me ... but like mop says, maybe you should try posting in a more friendly way.
Your wireframe looks quite dense for what you are getting out of it ... or is this to allow for lots of scope in animation
