SDK in maya Joints

Does anyone know if its possible to set driven key of a child joint to drive its parent ? this is somthing ive not been able to do ... i get the cycle error ... I understand why this is not possible to do in a standard way ... but is there a trick envolving locators or constraints that will enable me to do it ??

i believe if you make a blank node, and parent that some how over the parent itself, it may be doable.

at first i was like "wtf is he..." then i remembered this conversation elsewhere, and as far as i can tell, its going to be done basically the same way i said.

maybe make a curve, SDK the child to the curve, then the curve to the parent. that works right?

im pretty sure that will come up with a connection loop the same way , but thanks , ill try it.
