You can try using militaryphotos.net as a starting point, they always have good stuff, but last I looked there wasn't anything specifically about Mexico.
Seems like the thing to do would be to research things the Mexican military is paying attention to, like the Zapatistas in Chiapas, or perhaps Nuevo Laredo, where the Federales are making a show right now.
From what I understand about Mexico, there are all kinds of local and federal military and police groups that all blur together. And, I have read, they occaisonally clash. As in, they sometimes shoot at each other.
Your last resort might be a movie or two, like Traffic, which definitely has a corrupt Mexican general.
