I really want to get into the whole oddworld thing. Ive never played any of them. What is the order? Is abe's oddisey first? then munch then stranger? anyways share your favorite moment from the game Rick, pump me up to buy this game!
Oddworld games have always had some of the most consistently and beautifully realized 3D art. i haven't played stranger yet (trying to make a dent in the considerable backlog of unplayed games i already have), but i'd like to
I love the stuff put out by that studio, although I was disappointed with Munch's oddyssey. But stranger looks to be a very interesting game, I know I'll need to play it at some point in the near future.
munch was supposed to be almost revolutionary. saying that depending on what you do, effects the environment of the planets ecosustem itself. instead it was like a 3d port of the old stuff.
i really wanted to pick this up. but dmc looked to sweet to pass up
definitely an awesome game, though the boss battles could use some work. currently stuck on one where restarting from the autosave gives the player less than a second to try and find a safe spot before they are mowed down and dead again... otherwise.. awesome.
Oddworld Inhabitants produce some of the most wonderful work in the industry. I've been somewhat wary of the change in interface for Stranger. Sounds like my concerns were unfounded
It's a fun, solid game. Controls are perfect and responsive, the story is engaging, it is visually stunning with great audio. The weapons choice is fairly unique, and I like the fact that for the most part you not only have to hunt bounties, but hunt for ammo,
In many respects it does play like Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, without pulling the blocks about.
Anyway, it's great fun mining a doorway with Fuzzies that bite the enemies, then chucking a skunk at them to make them puke and keep them distracted while you go in and mop up.
Yeah, this game is great. A little short and some (two) boss battles are controller frustratingly hard. But I had a blast playing through it. I wish they would have churned out a sequel by the end of the year with some multiplayer, but oh well. There's always next gen.
I am waiting for this one too - allways liked abes universe.
Just saw a presentation vid about the gamedesign, the fuzzies are pretty mean in this part?!

Yeah, Rick. Tell us what makes the game good. I don't know much about this title myself.
