EarthQuake, did you post this or another, extremely similar Seburo weapon model on the old forums? I hope so, else I've got some wicked deja vu going on here.
About the model: is that ridge/crease up the center of the handgrip supposed to be there? It seems to me that would be rather uncomfortable on a real gun, as it'd drive right against the palm. I'm assuming it must be that way, since the model looks awesome and very well detailed.
Yeah its like that in shirow's design and the airsoft model that its based of off... I agree its a bit wierd too, and yeah i did something similar: http://earthquake.ichian.org/nine.jpg
UnderTow also did this gun too around the same time i did that one but his was a super long rifle type version of it
Looks okay, but the desig so borrows from the FN p-90. What is the purpose of that knob directly in front of the trigger, inside the trigger guard? it looks, ergonomically to me, that a finger could not get to the trigger properly and may lead to accidental discharges.
Scott: Shirow actually has a gun thats WAY more borrowed from the p90, called "Nine Weapon" in the first ghost in the shell movie. I think that thing is so your thumb on your foreward hand dosent bump the trigger, i actually moved the trigger back a tad cause its even worse in the ref i have, which is an airsoft version of it.
The Seburo MN-23 One such site you can purchase @. I must say Quake, the detailing is scary. I've seen UT's ver. they come very close to each other. This one however the skinning is somehow more refined. Excellent stuff being a anime fan myself? I have to give you a 6 out of 5 on the craftsmanship of the work.
Right, the last picture is the reference i used for modeling. I still need to add the flip up sites and make a low poly before i can move on to texturing her,
Herr-Maestro: Hah, I've been described as looking like Freddy Prince Jr. and Elijah Wood as well. I'll tack Mr.Rollins onto the list.

Phatcat: Ahh two of my favorite firearms. Trully though whats the Seburo needs is for that back section to be replacable rather then completely linked to the main body of the weapon. A folding stock and the addition of a virtical front grip on the front (past the existning front grip) would allow it to quickly go from being a 300+ meter rifle, to a quite dangerous close quarter's sub-machinegun. Just a thought.
Bleh, going pretty slow with the low poly and normals on this, should have been done a long time ago... Anywhere heres the scope with normals weeee. No work has been done on the diffuse yet.
{edit] Something worth noting, if you increase the saturation of your normal maps in photoshop it can give it a nice little extra pop, doom3 does this with its build in renderer.

(if that is a word)
And what modeling process did you go about this with?
Scott
Frank the Avenger
Is the merging of both the FN-p90, and the FAMAS.
FAMAS
FN-P90
