Leading West Coast game developer is seeking the best and brightest developers in the games industry to help build their pipeline for their PSX2 and next-gen console hardware games. This developer is a relatively small and extremely successful company; previous titles have gone on to sell tens of millions of copies worldwide.

SENIOR/LEAD R&D SHADER TEXTURE ARTIST

Cutting edge games are evolving beyond the need for simple texture maps with the occasional alpha channel. This developer is looking for a texture artist with varied experience in either next-gen game development, digital FX, or with advanced PC graphics cards. Two years minimum industry experience is required, including but not limited to Maya’s Hypershade editor, Photoshop and ideally Zbrush. This full time, in-house position will work closely with programmers or technical artists to finalize our future shader pipeline. Our finalist will be comfortable with painting textures and developing sophisticated shaders using a variety of approaches like normal, environment, displacement and procedural maps. Experience in photoreal color & lighting and advance knowledge in shading-networks (hypershader) will be essential for optimal results. Candidates could expect to take a test in Maya. Submitted portfolios must include samples of professional work, ideally as Maya files for best assessment.
