Big gaming events soon?

Hey all my best friend is getting married in June an I'm in charge of setting up the bachelor party. He is really in to games (I mean almost to “the brink of insanity” into games). So I would love to take him to some big gaming event/expo/ect. in the next few months. I'm looking for anything LAN parties... anything.

Any info insight/ suggestions would be helpful

(Please, nothing to do with strippers and such. I promised his fiancé that there won’t be any and I tend to keep that promise thanks:)

I was thinking about e3 but don't you have to be a part of the industy or can we get in even though we are not?

Just print up a business card. Say you';re a game developer working for such-and-such company, that should be enough.
