More rants about the ex-gf

Last night the ex-gf(the one that tried to poison me)came over. We got into an arguement. She then started taking her anger and frustration out on the childrens half brother. She smacked him, spanked him and dragged him out of my house by his arm. I don't meam she pulled him out while he was walking. She literally dragged him. He never had a chance to stand up and walk, she was pulling him so hard.
I called the police, but when they arrived they found no visible injuries so they couldn't charge her with anything.
I have to say that's utterly ridiculous! If she had done that to another adult or someone elses child her butt would be in jail. What is wrong with this world? It's crazy that you can do whatever you want to your kids as long as there are no visible marks. The worst part is, if I physically tried to stop her from doing that I would have been charged with assualt.

Rant of the day is over.
Thanks

Thats harsh. Sorry about your troubles. Perhaps since the police wont help, Social Services will. They tend to focus more on the childs overal safty, by inquireing about past behaviors and such. Then again, I was abused as a child and social services never did anything but suggest that I spend the night at a friends house while my parents were angry.

You should get a restraining order. Your health, both physical and mental are in danger. I wish you luck.

Sad but true. Dude the law has a tendency to alway belive the woman. Im not saying this is wrong or right, But if a woman goes psycho on her kids it's a bit harder for the dad to do anything. Whereas if a dad goes psycho on a kid the mom calls the police and Bam the cops are there tasering the fool.

She's still not in jail for conspiracy to commit murder for the poisoning?

Seriously, a restraining order should be top priority.

Call CPS. They're more likely to go to bat for you than anyone.

Do not let this woman in your house. Locks should be changed.

If you absolutely must deal with her, just fire up a video camera before she comes over, and put it in a discreet location where it is most likely to catch the action. This will help you out with CPS and/or court better than anything else.

In many peoples' experience (mine included), for some reason, CPS are a bunch of fucking ineffectual losers. They may start off acting concerned and determined, but somehow they can never follow up and do what needs to be done.

Oh, except in cases where they've successfully had parents prosecuted for child porn, for taking snapshots of their own naked infant children. Yeah.

Beaming the positive vibes at you now, Dave...

Sorry Downsizer, I contacted someone with CPS today and was told there is nothing they can do.

GR all I can say is if I didn't have kids, and I saw her doing that. She would have been in a world of pain, or worse. One thing I can't stand is someone abusing thier child!

Thanks J, actually the CPS caseworker around here are pretty good. Unfortunately the law ties thier hands. They can't intervene until there is evidence of abuse. That means the kid has to be hurt first.

Setup a camera and change your locks. Let her come over and pull that shit again, catch it on tape. She's be fucked afterwards. There's cheap camera out there that are more than suitable.

If you live near a large population centre, you may find a electronic surplus outlet that will have cheap cams that can be hooked up to a VCR (look for RCA connection on the cam. Pop in a 8h tape and just let it run when she is coming over. Also you can set it up for when you leave so you can check if any funny business is going on. Nothing speaks louder than hard evidence.

video camera is a good idea, hell she sounds nuts so, i'd just grab it and film her behavior regardless of wether or not she see's it, she may act civil if she's on video, or it could set her off even further, run for life man, and your family's

It's absolutely right that some evidence of injury or impending injury must be found before an agency will intervene. Taking someone's children from them on the basis on someone else's word alone would be fucking horrible ... every parent would have to walk on eggshells to avoid getting into a beef with an ex-spouse or insane neighbor for fear of being hit where they'd be most vulnerable. It's a good rule.

Please no arguing guys. I had enough of that last night. The video camera sounds nice but it won't help with the real issue. I'm concerned about the childrens half-brother. According to the laws we have, she can hit him, verbally abuse him, and whatever else she wants as long as it doesn't leave an injury. I could videotape her slapping him and dragging him around by his arm and it would be worthless unless she broke his skin or bruised him. CPS is already aware of her mental state, but like I said there's nothing they can do. Until she loses it a bit more and hits him too hard there's no legal ground to stand upon. this is probably one of the most frustrating things I've been through. I have to stand back powerless and watch her slowly destroy a young life.

Malekyth, you're right it is a good rule, but in this situation it's limiting my ability to protect someone that can't protect hisself.

I thought causing mental damage is also a form of injury?

Can't prove that either. He's only four years old and can't express himself that well verbally.
