DDR OWNZ ME

So I heard about a psx controller to usb adapter and wondered if there was a DDR for the PC. I played it for a week or two with one of my residents who had it for ps2 back in college. Well there is StepMania which can use all the songs from actual DDR machines. Soz I ordered an adapter and it finally got here. I bought a pad from circuit city, and I have been playing for an hour and a half solid. I looove it. I know this rockets me to a whole new nerd category, but its great exercise and good fun.

Any other Closet DDR'ers?

I played DDR at a friend's house and once at an arcade. I would like to get into it sometime, but as is, I'm too stompy, my friend is quite sure I stomped his floorpad to death.

I used to play DDR every day when I was working at the Treasure Island between shooting weddings. I'd go down to the arcade in my tux, take off my jacket and git crazy wit DDR 5th mix.

I know some people round here who are absolutely killer at DDR. You would not beat them. Ever. I personally avoid it

I absolutely can't stand these games. I think it has to do with my total lack of coordination. I'd much rather keep games and exercise apart. I think you need to figure out how to hook that pad up with WOW or HL2.

I can't even play it with a keyboard, how am I supposed to do it with a mat? My mind can't process the arrows fast enough.

We just got some mats - the cheapest kind, and they're still gassing off like crazy. We've had them in the garage for a week and you practically choke from the fumes when you go in there

For the Monolith holiday party we got Gameworks (big arcade in downtown Seattle) all to ourselves and I actually had a lot of fun playing it, on beginner mode. The PC game starts out much harder though. We still have to figure out how to make it easier

Yeah, i'm pretty sure you can use a controller. You can use the keyboard with StepMania on the PC anyway.

DDR Truely is the devil's tool. Something that actaully gets gamers up and moving just reaks of satan's musk. I remember playing it at 4 in the morning with a bunch of friends...it was insane.

Got 2 mats for the PS2. I used to play daily, but probably only Once or Twice ever week or so. (when ever the cravings come back)

You can play with a regular PS2 controller, but whats the point of that?
