after playign a lot of resident evil 4, i wanted to make a head model fit for a cinematic, that coupled with my love for the warcraft universe resulted in an orc head.
texture WIPS here

i dont plan on taking this any further, just something fun to do and get some work back up here after what seems like forever (i think magdalena ut2k4 was the last finished thing i've worked on)

But i think his teeth must be a little 'curved'. They look like a fence.
altough somethin is bugging me about the color of his skin. Looks a little like it used to be normal skin color but now received a green overlay.. Not that it actually is green skin.
donno tho, just a tought. far better then what i can come up with anyway
I agree with Omar_Nabiev, the teeth are way too straight, especially for an orc... too clean, too!
I totally love the way you've done the eyes and hair, they rock.
The flesh texture is nice too but I think motives is onto something about the colour... there isn't enough colour variance to suggest it's "real" flesh, it looks more like he's wearing thick green makeup or face paint.
Lovely materials as usual though, everything has the right amount of shininess and texture.
Do a whole character, you lazy bum!
MoP
what the hell where u thinking??
jesus...
good job my man
hair rox
Btw, is that a modified version of you Hellboy mesh? It looks a lot like it. Very good work
no intended insult with that comment, just the facial structure and texture reminded me of it..
very cool tho
only crit it the teeth are too flat (on the actual model), put some curve into that jaw, those guys are meat eaters!

Haha this explains the bobo look :P haha
thumbs up
DH - everyone has already strongly expressed the need to see a beaten up orc and not one that shops at bath and body works. so i will spare the same comment.... o god, in discribing which comment i would spare you i have in fact not spared you at all. well this has been another failed attempt in my life. sorry. keep up the great work DH, i will miss watching you at sketchgroup. O GOD, did that sound gay?!!? I ment i will miss watching you produce good art. keep posting so i can see it all.
omar - good catch, i didn't notice that till you pointed it out. always nice to get fresh eyes on something to catch just this type of thing.
motives - i had noticed that too early on and added some more color into it, but apparently i didn't add enough.
JB - hehe i suppose thats from working with him for a few years, you tend to learn a few things looking over bobo's shoulder from time to time.
shotgun - haha you fuck, die
vassago - yea, the update has dirtier teeth, not much but i really dont want to push it much further. yes its a modified hellboy mesh (the texture was started from scratch), since he's kinda got the orc'ish facial features to begin with, was just a matter of tweaking some of the face, chopping off the horns, and giving him a proper mouth.
bobo - dont just go out and blab all my secrets
poop - originally i wanted to keep him clean because i felt adding more dirt and stuff just made him lose some of his form and crispness (i still do to some degree). the orcs in WoW aren't super dirty by any means either and i was following that style more or less.
cholden - its a dog http://www.horribledeath.com/images/angrydog7.jpg
everyone else - thanks for the imput!
but my main thing is, this isnt WoW style :P
its definetly more than a few rungs up on the realism ladder.
its sposed to be wow style as in its an orc from warcraft, instead of an orc from lotr or whatever else orcs come from, not that the texture rendering is in wow's cartoony style.
leon was 10k if i recall actually
id like to ask you how you went about painting the hair. and the UV layout must be really good. im not too good at UV mapping, but it looks like you were able to paint easily and then have it map out very well.
