non-CG freelance-ish question

I was recently approached by someone to design a medeium sized tattoo to go on their hip and they offered to pay me. However I have no idea how much people charge for that sort of thing. I would like to be reasonably compensated, but I also don't want to scare him away. Anyone know what tattoo artists charge to create original designs?

I figure for my standards if I was offerd somthing like that $20. But one way is to set yourself a $/hr and charge at your rate for how long it takes to draw it out.
