an excellent all-round art tutorial

there's quite a wealth of tutorials and helpful advice to be found over at conceptart.org's forums, but a guy who goes by Prometheus has been steadily cobbling together a fantastic tutorial that puts together all the basic and 'little things' into one short document that everyone can benefit from.

i don't know anyone who doesn't have at least some fairly serious holes in their classical education, this can help caulk them up a bit

it's quick and informal, but there's a lot of information here.

cheap: yeah, it's impressive how his simple illustration of what speculars are 'doing' on different materials really makes handling them a lot easier

Prometheus kicks some serious ass. I find him to be very good at expressing his ideas. Also he's a good artist, but not so world-stompin' good that he's intimidating. I aspire to his level!

prom's a pretty awesome guy. used to chat with him a lot a few years back. was nice enough to teach me some php basics at the time to help with some web site design stuff. it's good to see he's still helpin people in one form or another.
