Just a character I'm doing for a hl2 mod me and a few friends are working on in our spare time. Good to do something different from the stuff i'm doing at work
I like everything except the porportions, Im not sure if its the stance he's in or not. His legs seem small but then again it could be the wierd armor he's got on. GJ, as others said it would be nice to see more of this work.
I wanted to stay away from the typical "perfect" physique and go for something more down to earth. So i thought of an average guy who goes to work and just so happens to be a corporate soldier of the future!
I spoke about a screenshot honouring the model, not a 50% jpg compression who show absolutly nothing. I think Both screenshots present on their website (who show this guy) does not give a reel vision of the model in-game. And it was the reason of my demand.
I am a fan of this. He's got the same proportions, pretty much, as the Combine soldiers - yes, as you say, just a regular guy who goes to work... and works as a corporate mook!
The armour is very cool, although I agree about the concern over how well that style and saturation of texture is gonna blend into the existing HL2 world (unless you're altering environment textures).
Great stuff though. I would also like to see wireframes! What size is the texture? 1024?

And it does seem as if they're altering the environment to fit the style. It looks great, so far, now if the gameplay is original: woohoo!
i would echo all the sentiments here--he's a really nicely designed fellow and the proportions are a breath of fresh air. my only crit would be that, personally, the row of three cylinders coming out of his back is a weak design element on an otherwise solid soldier design. would be nice to see a less common treatment of the same area.
Hate to be the umpteenth person to say this, but damn well done sir! I agree with the points about maybe giving him a second color, and the cylinders seeming a tad odd. Now which one of those pouches is for carrying donuts?

hmm it just a bit boring colorwise. maybe add some other colors. Orange, cyan or purple eventuelly.
Can we see some background material? Concepts, WIP maybe some close ups and flats too?
Looks awesome man, I love it. Only critique would be to echo what the shimster said about another color.
I agree with Shimmer though, you should probably add a hint of orange tints, just to break up all the blue, and get a little contrast going.
