Job Description:
A major US based games developer in the Southwest is currently seeking a highly talented, Senior Concept Artist to produce highly realistic and innovative characters and environments for both a brand new Unannounced Action Game as well as other Intellectual Properties being developed externally. Ideally, the candidate will have 4-7+ years of experience, possessing some of the best 2D, Concept, and Illustrations the industry has ever seen. PLEASE do not apply unless you are considered in the top of your field and have GAMES OR FILM EXPERIENCE.
The bulk of your effort will be geared towards working with the Art Director on creating level design concept art for their in-house game, and the miscellaneous unpredictable needs of their externally developed titles. The applicant must be stylistically versatile, with an emphasis on quality environmental design. The applicant would need to have an eye for realism, a strong interest in scary and creepy subject matter, and an understanding of attractive scene lightning.
Responsibilities Include:
Must possess outstanding traditional illustration skills in multiple mediums, including a firm grasp of color theory, and be able to produce accurate concepts based on the Lead Designer's descriptions. Should have a keen eye for realism and a strong interest in working on horror games, as our next game will likely be in that genre. Must be a good team player and be comfortable translating someone else's vision.
Experience with black and white concept art (characters, buildings, landscapes, etc ).
Experience with storyboards and illustration a must
Color Illustration is a plus, must have a wide range of style and ideas.
Experience shipping a product preferred.
PC and/or Console development welcomed.
