(if i posted this in the wrong forum, i'm sorry... i'm new)
Here are some screenshots of a M3A1 Grease Gun that I rendered in Milk Shape 3D. I'm sorry about the lack of textures, I have absolutly no idea how to add them.
Don't be too harsh with your critiques, this is my first attempt at modeling anyithing more then stick figures.
Well, aside from the obvious fact that you overkilled on the poly's, it's not bad at all. if this is intended for a game, you might want to try cutting down on the number of sides in your primitives (i.e any cylinders in this case). Remember that not everything needs to be nicely rounded and smooth, its a good idea to think ahead on what parts the player will see most and then distribute accordingly. Just as an example, that barrel is going to be farthest from the players point of view (if this is intended as a first person model) so you could easily get by with having only 8-10 sides max. Hope this helps
Well, that's just the thing, I was building it just for shits and giggles, so the polycount wasn't of big concern to me. Also, since I have no idea how to add textures, I am forced to show little details with yet more polygons.
