Been working on this for the last weeks and I'm almost happy with it.
I wanted to re-create a great scene from this movie.
The background is made of parts from different screengrabs from the movie.
Kudos to ThE_BirD for the cartoon shader

very nice, I have a bunch of studio ghibli dvd's I borrowed from a friend last year. I guess I should watch Totoro next.

Thanks guys!
Totoro only used 2170 polys so I added some more on his forehead and belly becaue it had some sharp edges there.
I had set myself a 4000 poly limit so I still have plenty left for his mouth. Mei is about 3600 polys but she's done.

The background was also a bit blurry so I made it sharper as much as you can do with a scaled up small image.



Spacemonkey...you should! It's not my favorite Miyazaki movie but it's great nevertheless.

Heheh - very good work I thought it was a frame from the film at first glance. Tototoro is definately one of my favourite Ghibli designs aswell.
