Well its getting some what close to GDC 05 so i figure we might as well start the old list up again. This time if you have a recent picture post it too, so we can see the ugly mugs of those who you will be going.

i'm still *very* annoyed that they moved it to SF (terrible location for any sort of con in my opinion), but seeing as i'm getting done with my B.A., better go and dish out a reel / portfolio

I'll be there. I'm getting in on Tuesday and we usually fly out on Friday. Seems much shorter than last year for some reason. I am personally real excited about the switch. San Jose was fine for the conference. But the town rolls up at 7 every night.

I'll be walking around in a t-shirt that work gives us. I'd be in for a polycount meet up or something like that. I wish Bay Raitt was speaking again. He and Tim Schaffer were amazing to see last year.

I was hoping that i would get a free ticket and that i'd be showing glace at the confrence, but not to be. So I'll be in san fran from wends afternoon to friday around 6pm. It will be me and my basic expo pass.

Still a little annoyed at Glace not being shown and the games they picked to be shown. A good few dont even have websites and those that do tha games look very blehh... but i'm very biased.

I really want to go but I've never done any travelling by myself, it's frightening! I can't handle city driving if I could ride around with someone I could go splits on the rental car bill.

edit: duh, I just realized that cities have public transportation, my only experience is with Ft. Lauderdale's fairly crappy options: wait for the bus or take out a loan for cab fair. How are San Francisco's options?

Astro they were there last year speaking actually. It was really informative. A guy I worked with at the time was trying to get in with them and it really helped.

I'm going to GDC but I don't have any recent pictures.

BTW does anyone know of any restaurants and food under $20 in the GDC area? So far the only place I can find doing a really poor www search is Canton at 655 Folsom St (around the corner of GDC) its food is from 7-14.

Maybe we should meet up for dinner and drinks after the conference in the evening so that any SF area polycounters can come as well. I would suggest Thursday or Friday. Is anyone not going to be there Friday night? Suggestions on where to go and where to meet up beforehand are welcome as well.

I'll be in town untill 7 pm on friday. Thats when my flight leaves. So if it was an early dinner say till 5:30ish then id be in for it. Other than that any time wensday or thursday works for me.

well, this is certainly a bummer, seems the new student services lady at my college didnt have a clue about getting passes for the game design students and now they'd rather spend money on a ski trip for a very few number of students who want to ski for free instead of fixing their mistakes and actually get a few passes for students that want to go to the GDC (myself included).

I got my Expo pass in the mail today, and finished my character demoreel. So i'm ready to go. Well except for not heaving my other demoreel done and the CD's not made for either.

That sucks Flaagan, did you pay the school for your ticket or were you hoping for fre tickets from the school?

They aren't doing student passes this year. That's the official word anyway. Which is a bummer.

Ill be there! I know the city pretty well, but I don't know what you guys are up for. Do you like to dance? There is a killer breaks scene in SF (breakbeats) but that might not be the most appropriate thing, dunno. Im going to an Alias Maya thing on Thursday evening, but would love to meet up with people. Lucky me, Ill be staying with my friends.
