for those that didn't get to play it on the #MD server or didn't know i was even working on a map, here are some shots. unfortunately these are not from a full compile, just a quick render. ironically, everyone else on the #md server has seen the full compile... i was comatose from tweaking it all night it was intended for the HL2 DM map compo, but didn't make the deadline. i'm just happy to have built a map and not just quit after dabbling around for a while
it still needs a few tweaks and another final compile after i get the exploding barrels to respawn properly and i implement a custom soundscape. also, both Fritz the Cat and Rogue13 contributed to this map in varying capacities. Fritsz did the underground portions you see. so it's not all my work
looks good buddy, i really dig the elavator lobby shot- something very twilight zone about it. that and i've always been a sucker for broken-down highway systems
's funny...as I was looking at the pics, I thought there was a marked difference between the aboveground and underground mapping...then I read it was done by two different people
I haven't played the map, so I can't comment on flow, but the shots looks amazing. Very imaginative environments. The underground sections are well lit too.
If I have one minor niggle it's that the first two shots of the underground portion look a bit...generic? Nah...flat? Nah...I dunno. Kick Fritz and tell 'im to change the texture on the pipes running through there (bit less rusted?), just to break the geometry up a little
