hi there folks. I've just recently gotten a hold of a copy of redhat 9, and have been playing around with it, trying to figgure this whole linux thing out.
the problem is that it doesn't come with drivers for either my radeon 9800 pro card, or my nforce2 motherboard, which has my ethernet card onboard.
i need to find some way to install drivers for my nforce2 mobo as well as my video card, but i can't for the LIFE of me figgure out where to do it. i've looked everywhere for linux tutorials but any that i have found don't get into driver instalation for new hardware, which sounds.. kinda crazy but so be it.
anyone have any info i can read? tips for a poor hopeless newbie?

For the Ati, but Ati has really bad drivers for Linux, don't expect any good 3d performance.
What is wrong with this explaination, have you tried it that way? (to get root previleges type "su" and then your root password in a console window.)
If you need to install the kernel source, open your RPM manager and install them from your Linux CD.
Not sure though if this works with the x-server running... The installation of the Nvidia graphics drivers only works if you kill the x-server first (with "init 3" if I remember correctly), but I guess that isn't needed for the nforce drivers.
Otherwise http://www.linux-gamers.net is a good resource for tutorials, but it is currently down so I can't give you direct links.
