I'll wait for der_ton decrypting the formats involved. MS3d 2.0 won't be ready before Duke Nukem Forever is (and even if Mete's going to have a hard time catching up with even Blender since that has dozens of different coders working on it, not to mention more expensive packages).

I already know that XSI is the only program that can make content for HL2.. but is it still possible to make custom HL2 models for the HL2 deathmatch??
Well, you're misinformed, because there are plugins to export content for HL2 out of Max and Maya.
It is definitely possible to make deathmatch models. The Valve guys even recommend you dissect the .qc files of the models that come with HL2 deathmatch, cause that's how you'll be doing it. Why don't you try learning yourself? Start reading.
