I tried to model him once and I remember this guy not being short on reference images on the web. Lots to choose from, but also a ton of different versions. Your version is great.
This is awesome he rocks metal! Nice touch with the pedestal.
Thanks for the kind remarks guys. Last night my daugther was thowing up so around 4 in the morning I couldn't sleep so I decided to finish up this guy. Im still gonna touch him up, because now in the light of day I can spot a few seams, but he's pretty much done. Im happy to say my work in progress folder is empty! Time to start the things Ive been cooking in the back of my head.
And here's a wallpaper I made, and yes It's narcissistic and no I don't care.
awesome work man. I think you need to experiment with a gloss map for this sucker. Not just a spec map (not sure if you have that already) but a gloss map, something that controls the specular falloff, not just the intensity. right now he feels like he is made out of the same type of metal all over. Being able to separate out the yellow from the red could go a long way. Looking great reguardless man. 8-)

Poop, youve picked my interest. What is a gloss map? what does it look like? and what slot do you put it in in the material editor? any examples?
