Anatomy first. His shoulders are too broad. his torso is too short. His feet are WAY too short and too thin. Its kind of hard to tell, but his torso looks too fat front to back. Actually, come to think about it, if you scaled the head down, and made the shoulder much more narrow, it would instantly look better.
Unwrapping: Im no master myself. But i see a few areas that are almost identical, where you could have easily gotten away with symmetry. There are also a few areas with a single colour that are WAY too big. If 200 pixels have the same colour, why not use just 4 pixels? The space you would have saved from doing this would leave more space for the main features of your skin, such as the breast plate and the face.
Texture: The face is ok. It has some variations in the skin tone that the rest of the skin pieces need badly. You could press the highlights even more, and add some shadows. Let some deep red accompany the shadow, and it will look alot better. The same goes for the metal. Darker shadows, and brighter highlights. Try to stay away from black and white, try to use really dark or bright colours instead. (im not sure how to explain this in english. hope it makes sense.)
Other than that, Its a good start if this is your first model. And you even got it unwrapped, skinned and rigged. Thats more than most people can pull off so early in ones career.
Good luck on future projects!
what you say have sens (for me), i keep in mind what you say and will do better for the next time
