I can't help but admire people who exploit human Ignorance. The guy is obviously saying it's a picture. Besides usually shipping costs go by weight and an x box with various games has to be at least $20 shipping, not $1 (which is still pretty pricey for a photo.
This is just as funny as that guy who sold an Air Guitar on ebay, and someone payed an insane amount of money for it too.
Though I can also pity the people who actaully buy this sort of scam.
Well, the guy is making out like it's an actual Xbox system, with 13 games or whatever. But in fact, he's only selling a PHOTO of the system, with 13games next to it.....
Notice after the bold text "Please read item description carefully" in the item description he cleverly put the word "used" in red as if to try and draw your attention away from the word "photo."
Apply common sense, this might not be fraud under law but it's clear that he's hoping for someone to misread the description and buy under false pretenses. The selling price indicates it worked.
i think thats the trouble , it may not be a scam by law , but the writen law isnt the only one ppl should obey , this guy obviously has no morals , or hes done it as a joke and got his mum to bid massive amounts on it or somthing... just to see if it would work and get in the news ..
tubboy, People will set up acounts and auction off stuff, and have friends under other accounts buy them, giving them good reviews, do this to build up a great feedback list, then bam, 300 buck xbox photos, do a few auctions like that and you got over a grand for free. actualy looking at his past auctions it looks like he just auctiond off a lot of crap laying around the house all 5 bucks or less selling price
Clever, just clever. Proof that school systems need to focus more on reading skills. This isn't a scam so much as a way to teach idiots how to shop Ebay more carefully.
this isn't a scam, it's a prank.
A bloody good one at that as well. I read through the text, and the amount of times he mentions it's a PICTURE is just ridiculous.
No jury in the world could convict him! except that, well, they could, and probably would.
Look at his feedback again. The majority of his feedback was for him as a buyer. He has only sold 3 items on ebay and those were all in the month of December. I suspect he created several accounts and did this all on his own just to establish a positive record as a seller. Or, who knows, maybe he did sell 3 actual people actual goods.
People should read the item descriptions more carefully, but this guy is just trying to take advantage of people. I think it's pretty low, myself.
I agree with MightyPea, he says he's selling a picture so much that the bidder would have to be EXTREMELY careless to not realize it's not the actual xbox and games being sold. Sure it kind of low of him to do it, but at the same time it's a perfect example of how carelessly consumers will throw their money away. Although I'd have to say it'd probably be better of him to just send the buyer an email saying "you do realize youo've just purchased a PICTURE, NOT an xbox and games right?"

hope he gets slammed.

Same with the ps2 when it was out, people were so obsessed with it then and definitely had to get anything ps2 if it's not even the ps2 itself.
well, it does say please read the disclaimer.. though it doesn't sit comfortably with me that gullible and inattentive people can be ridden so easily.
