So things are going swell with my first gig and I had some extra time around the holidays to do a painting for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. The Actual size is a little over 2'x 2'. I loved making it. Hope you dig.
The more I look at this the more I realize how much you intentially or un-intentially played with scale and forground / background and their relationships. The sedimentary rock/sand layers too. (love the skull)
It looks very nice. Sorta reminds me of something that'd be on a hallmark birthday card or something. I like the little skull added in underneith the dirt.
Really great color, and great use of texture. I wonder if you can change up material types in your style. Right now its all kind of tdry, not really any specular anywhere. Not sure if it would ruin the look or not, but you might want to try it out.
