Ha, thanks. But my wife and I are all rooted in here. Like a friend once said, "I don't know why people in our industry buy houses". Definitely makes it harder to relocate.

I'm going to bump. If anyone is going to GDC and wants to talk, just let me know. We are still looking for the above positions. Plus MORE: Animator, 3d Character Artist.
We are looking for the same quality of people on par with the work examples you have seen from Epic.
You can reach me/set up a time to meet by sending a mail with Chris Mielke in the subject header at: jobs@day1studios.com.
I'm a Character Modeler trying to break into the industry. I sent my resume into Day 1 Studios a while back but have since updated my site. You can see my work at http://www.ent3d.com. Here is a link to a Normal Mapped model I've been working on: Normal Map.
Hey Erik, unfortunately I don't look at every resume that comes through. I can pass along your site and if the art director is interested he will be in touch.
Looks like a good start down the right track, just keep it up!
Hey Chris,
I sent you an email with my resume and links to me site. I sent it to your email addy you have at your web-site. Just wanted to give you a heads up.
Thanks,
todman www.todd3d.com/3dmodel
I see alot more work on your site and you've made progress. We really need people who can do high res modeling and all the bells and whistles associated with it, similar to what Epic is showing (and who they are asking for).
The good thing is that you can look around polycount and get great inspiration from the talented people here.
Please keep at it, you have potential and definitely keep in touch and let me see what you are up to.

Level designers are split between CHI and HV. Again, it would be the applicant's preference.
Thanks for your interest, I'll check with HR and make sure she got your mail.
If you have any more questions, fire away!
We have people from England who I think we have helped with their visas/work permits. So I don't think we are a stranger to the process.
