Yea...i suck really bad. I just need some help,
ok, like if i get a picture of a mdoel i want to
do. I take it into photoshop and a pant on a
poly flow, then i save it and open up max. Then
I try to copy that poly flow i did on the image
but i suck at shaping it. It just never
comes out right. So i guess i just need some tips
or a mentor. I would really like to continue
modeling, but everytime i try to model I almost
never finish the project i started.

Ok, umm...tips? blush.gif

[i hate to cry out for help, but this has been
getting to me latly whenever i try to model]

Post your work in the Pimping section, you might get some tips in there.

It also helps to examine the wireframes of models that look good, see how they laid out their "flow."

    Everyone has to start somewhere.

Careful with refs that aren't photos, hand drawn material has a nasty tendency not to line up from multiple angles. Especially with cartoon characters the best you can do is put the ref where you see it and work free-hand because even if you get a 100% match from one perspective it will look like crap from another one.

You've got a bunch of mentors right here on this board. Post what you've got and let us take a look.

Also, I would HIGHLY suggest finishing what you start. Even if the end result is crap, you're going to learn more by working through a problem and then looking back on it than you will by stopping and then starting something new.
