COMPANY PROFILE:
Leading game developer on the West Coast is seeking the best and brightest game developers in the games industry to help build their pipeline for their next generation platform. They are now moving into full production on a brand new, original, high-profile project funded by a top-3 publisher slated for the Playstation Portable (PSP). The project is not scheduled for release until fall 2006. It is an original IP, non-licensed, and is best described as a "cartoon-ish blend of genres". This studio’s 30+ years of combined design / game experience has allowed them to lay out the core design framework for their project

ARTISTIC STYLE: Cartoony

POSITION: ENVIRONMENTAL ARTIST

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The 3D Artist will be responsible for translating 2D concepts to beautiful and colorful 3D environments. This person will be responsible for modeling and texturing (with emphasis on texturing) of non-photorealistic environments and objects.

REQUIREMENTS:
2-5 years game experience with at least one shipped game
Outstanding skill in creating attractive, inviting worlds with color and texture
Strong ability in low and medium-polycount modeling
Understanding of game-specific techniques in modeling and texturing

PLUSES:
Some study and familiarity with traditional 2D art techniques
Proficiency with Maya

PREFERRED:
Formal study and understanding of traditional art techniques or equivalence
Strong 2D and conceptual design skills
