@killingpeople: I'm just ranting about a flash ad that popped up and made it so I couldn't see the front page of polycount.com since it took up most of the center screen (even at 1024 x 768 resolution) so I couldn't read the news.
I haven't had a pop-up since using Firefox... although the actual ads @ IGN.com are annoying, as they're party of the page layouts and don't actually pop-up.
regarding the ads within the page, if you are using FireFox be sure to check the Adblock extension, helps zap those pesky ads within pages, just right click on what you dont want to see, choose addblock, and it's gone. Works with wildcards (block a whole domain like ads.com or something) block whole Iframes or even flash ads! I love it...
I discovered that, of all things, the Viewpoint plug-in has a pop-up blocker. Puts em all in a bin, and you can trash em with one click. Site prefs, too. It also has an annoying me-too search function, but...
I already have ADBlock and I managed to block it out two minutes after I just needed to restart the browser for it to take effect.
It would be nice if they actually had a close button on the ad but no the desguised one that looked like an x but actually lauched another window to the site.
By the way what the hell is up with the 404 page going to IGN instead of a Gamespy server?

I didn't know IGN took over the servers as well.
