Heya everyone, am working on a Bugatti W16 engine for my portfolio,,,,

Anddd, this is my first blockout, almost 3 days of work, and I would LOVE to get some feedback on these, so proportions, weight, mechanisms or anything that you might feel fits.

I find it helps to place the reference and the model side-by-side, to more easily compare them, like this:



It also helps to put the reference behind the model inside your modeling app, then set the model to x-ray or ghost style rendering, kind of like this:

Oooo thankyou so much. Also, I was wondering, how much does the camera distortion affects this approach

It definitely won't let you compare 1-to-1 exactly. You can try creating a camera to view an angle closer to the original camera. But I think you'll just have to eyeball it. Real-world cameras have barrel distortion and other artifacts that most 3d cameras don't have (unless you put a ton of effort into it).
