Been sitting on this for a while. It’s the Jetsons spacecraft that George is most often pictured with.

I’ve looked at it for so long that I can’t objectively see which areas need to be changed, modified, or swapped out entirely. I’d also like to add a headlight to the front, but I really want to preserve the retro style. I heavily referenced the body shape of Chevy’s Bel Air as well.

I’m open to critiques or suggestions—anything that will help keep me moving so I can actually finish it before moving on to UVs and texturing.

Also, I FINALLY FOUND a huge reference image, deep in an external hard drive. The spacecraft from the Movie planet 51 by 3D artist David Letondor - https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ZGq21

Cool project! What's your primary Jetson reference?

And how are you planning to render this... as traditional PBR with IBL? Or a toon shader?

may I suggest that you're using a more glossy material like in your reference? i already can spot quite a few bumpy areas and thats with a very matte material. its hard surface, let the bumps jumpscare you so you can clean em up :)

Obviously use this if you haven't since "bumpiness" has been brought up.  //assuming you are already just worth mentioning again.

Things to mention, if you are making it your own that is a cool challenge.
If you are replicating it, yes indeed you would need every occurrence of the vehicle.
When i tried to use references from shows they seem to do things in a way where they only need that look at a particular shot, so if there are discrepancies from reference materials, this is why.

Which i learned to just either pick my favorite look to the item in question or try to cram all of those occurrences into a decently readable final.  (with adjustments of my own, where needed for it to make sense.)

I thought this did have a headlight or headlights at one point i'd check some "in the dark/night time", versions of the vehicle, i think thought they get hidden like those old "corvette" headlights.

So something similar & some alternative "final beauty renders", to give you ideas when you finish it, would probably go along way.

That front screen monitor/panel area, having it floating like that kind of bugs me, so i'd do the "retractable" thing here also to hide it? maybe or figure out a way to incorporate it onto the would be "dash board", of this front paneling.

Not getting a bottom view and i know in the shows its pretty bare-bones/plain-Jane under there, up to you really if you want to show that off at all or let us peak there.

Neat project, just a "re-tightening" to all area's or a once over to get that "sharp look", will help.  (i only hate to redo subd work if its A LOT, luckily this is not that far to get fixed up)

I like the idea look forward to more updates. (i tried to address your concerns.)

The visual development that Frederick Gardner had in SCOOB and The Iron Giant are other huge references (dashboard). I didn't have 1 main Jetson reference. I just needed to capture the perfect or near-perfect silhouette and add details from there.

PBR in Arnold for stills and maybe into Unreal to add simple functionality and animation. Very similar to the animations from Artforge on Youtube. I would probably play with different material overlays in unreal too.

I listen to Dean Martin alot so I would love to animate it to the beginning of "
Everybody Loves Somebody". Dean, combined with the Jetsons, seemed like a PB&J-type combo.
