Have anyone noticed any advantage of Fuji X-trans cameras over Bayer ones with similar matrix resolution for capturing tiny mesh details ?
I heard rumors that xtrans performs better   but never noticed any advantages visually in the images .
Contrary for example to old foveon matrix camera and its vastly superior sharpness and details in resulting mesh in Reality Capture .  Too bad that foveon cameras are a torture to use . Shallow buffer and slow processing- non stop waiting  you loose track of your supposed series.

I personally think that choosing between matrices is a hair splitting. Just choose high Mpix camera and a sharp lens.

Yeah, probably.   I never used Xtrans  so it's why my curiosity .   Gemini  suggests against X-tras . Chat GPT for it . They couldn't agree on this thing .   ha-ha.
As of Foveon matrix  it provides huge advantage  for sure .   My sigma quatro dp2  camera produces  sharpest and most detailed  mesh  in Reality Capture . But does 2 minutes freeze after each 7 shots, eats batteries like crazy   and work nice at 100 iso only really, so a nice cloudy day  for photogrammetry  and it works only around noon time only.
