About Us
We’re an indie studio dedicated to recreating Renaissance Venice as it was in the late 15th century with engaging and fun gameplay and story to accompany it.
As fans of history, and video games, we’re building Project Rialto, a historically grounded RPG/simulation that lets players experience life in the Italian Renaissance. Players will rise from humble beginnings to become true Renaissance pioneers, exploring craftsmanship, politics, and
intrigue in one of history’s most influential eras.

About the Role Unreal Engine 5 Programmer
We’re looking for a Gameplay Programmer to join our core team.
You’ll work alongside designers and artists to develop gameplay systems, from crafting and
economy mechanics to player tools, and other gameplay features as the project evolves.
Responsibilities:
• Prototype and implement gameplay systems in Unreal Engine 5 (Blueprints and/or
C++)
• Collaborate with designers to build, balance, and refine mechanics (crafting, economy,
dialogue, AI, etc.)
• Integrate player interactions, UI logic, and environmental gameplay elements
• Work with environment artists to connect gameplay systems to the world
• Test, document, and iterate on systems for long-term stability
• Participate in weekly meetings and contribute creatively to feature development
Requirements
Software / Tools:
• Unreal Engine 5
• Version Control (Git / Perforce)
• Visual Studio or Rider (for C++)
Skills:
• Strong understanding of gameplay systems and player experience
• Experience with Blueprint scripting (C++ experience is a big plus)
• Solid debugging and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of Unreal’s workflow (levels, assets, UI, materials)
• Comfortable collaborating with a small remote indie team
Interest:
• History
• Story Focused RPGs
Bonus Points:
• Familiarity with AI Behavior Trees, Data Tables, or UI systems
• Previous experience with RPG, simulation, or historical projects
