I am trying to do a sort of grand comeback to Photoshop. Blowing dust off my sub I am still paying because of old habit. Chat GPT script writing + Photoshop event listener made it super capable again. Chat made me super helpful one click "crop from master file and export material channels from layercomps " script working around old SPainter limitations and saving me from the hassle of Designers Gordian knots and missed resources nightmare. My own files took me an hour sometimes to figure out how the hell I made it work last year. Also Photoshop is still a champion to clean/work with photogrammetry materials.
So I entertain an idea of using Photoshop again as a workflow speedup.
They added sbsar support for smart objects that could work potentially as live filters working in 32 bit float math internally for 16 bit integer document.
So far I figured the document should be power of 2 size . Otherwise sbasar resale it internally . It works a bit slower than In Designer still could be quite helpful.
A gray looking RGB smart object works as grayscale input just fine. Height to normal map node works.
Some of my pixel processors also work fine , like old frequency separation tricks. But sometimes I get just nothing. Couldn't find any info , any example sbs or any specific Photoshop template for Designer.
Anyone tried it and have some ideas to share?
